The Riverview neighborhood of Santa Ana celebrated El Dia de Reyes on the evening of Jan. 6.
Three men dressed as Los Reyes Magos, the Three Wise Men, brought gifts for Baby Jesus, and handed out gifts to neighborhood children. The neighborhood celebration also included prayer, a piñata, traditional rosca de reyes bread, which is a crown-shaped pastry, and hot drinks.
On Jan. 6, El Dia De Reyes, or Reyes Magos, is celebrated in Mexico and other Latin American countries to recall the Three Wise Men following the star to Bethlehem, and finding the newborn Jesus, bringing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
